Songs for the Road…
No journey, however near or far, is ever complete without music. It is a universal language that captures our memories and imagination, capable of bringing people together or providing a quiet solace amidst the frenzy of life…a place for our mind and heart to drift when we just need a time out from life.
So, for our journey out into the world, here’s a sampling of who we’re listening to these days:
Sharon – John Mayer, Ben Harper, Amos Lee, The Indigo Girls, Damien Rice/Lisa Hannigan, Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong
Eric – Stuck on a couple of artists he recently discovered, he’s tuned in to Mat Kearney and Graham Colton.
Sometimes, the best music of all is the kind we come across happenstance…the local variety found in the subway, on a street corner, or in the center square in Nice, as I discovered last night. Their name is OcoBamba and their style not unlike the Gipsy Kings, a favorite group from my graduate school days. 15 Euros later, I had a copy of one of their CDs in hand…better than a souvenir t-shirt any day of the year!
If you’ve got good music to share, we hope you’ll pass it on…
Thanks, Clare, for the Spotify playlist…can’t wait to tune in!!!
